Welcome to the Concordia College-Selma library Wiki!
"Getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant." —Mitchell Kapor
It makes online research a bit difficult! There is simply more information out there than can be absorbed in a lifetime. While pursuing your degree you simply don't have time to be diverted from your goals. We want to help guide you in your academic endeavors.
We want you to use our printed information resources. There is a wealth of material right here on our book and periodical shelves and archives. However, we know you like the immediacy of electronic information. Please realize that we have BOTH forms of information here in the library and that only using one form of information limits you.
That being said, we have prepared some assistance for you in your use of electronic information. We soon expect to also have such guides for using the "bricks and mortar" library as well.
Please use these guides! And don't feel the need to digest all of this information at one time. There is simply too much instructional material using these various links. Pick and choose. Select what you most need now and come back for more later.
We hope you will come back to this wiki several times as your "information literacy" skills develop.
Keep in mind many of the following sites will have references to things that are specific to that website, school, or library and thus may not be accessible to you. However, you certainly will benefit from using the portions available to you in these information resources.
Also, please feel free to give us your comments and suggestions as we want this wiki to evolve and change with your academic needs. After writing to us (use the e-mail addresses on the right side of this page or use this link http://ccslibrary.pbworks.com/contact.php ) we will set you up to leave comments and possibly even edit the wiki itself. So please collaborate with us. We need your ideas to strengthen the library and improve this wiki!
One word of note. Concordia College-Selma does not endorse the opinions or viewpoints that you may encounter on any websites you may visit as you use this wiki. This wiki and the sites listed are for informational and instructional purposes only.
